Motion of no confidence: Marleix not certain of his strength 

While the President of the LR group in the National Assembly appears to be playing for time on the issue of tabling a motion of no confidence, this may not solely be linked to a hidden political agenda, but rather to a worrying balance of power for him. Indeed, there would now be only around thirty deputies willing to follow him in this political venture deemed risky, falling well short of the 58 signatures required to trigger this procedure. It is a similar story at LIOT, where Marleix is reportedly failing to muster full support for this initiative as things stand. This is enough to give Aurélien Pradié some ideas; he is taking advantage of this complicated period for Marleix to spread the rumour that a new parliamentary group, which he would naturally lead, could come and upset the applecart when parliament resumes.
