Suspended last March due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the air link between the Hungarian capital and the Moldavian capital has reopened, operated by the Hungarian operator WizzAir.

This is good news announced by the Hungarian airline WizzAir: the resumption of the direct line between Budapest and Chisinau. Suspended last March due to «increased but not imminent risks» in the Moldovan airspace, the air link resumed a few days ago and will operate flights every Thursday and Sunday, according to the airline’s press release.

This is a double good news, for both the Hungarian and the Moldovan sides: the connection will bring undeniable economic benefits to the Moldovan capital due to the arrival of tourists; the same argument applies for the Hungarian side, where it is claimed that the flights are filled most of the time. For the Moldovan capital, it is a new breath of fresh air, and confirms that Chisinau has been opening up to the international community for several months despite a difficult context.
