Haiti at the heart of a French political revival

As a matter of urgency in response to the Haitian crisis, Patrick KANNER, leader of the Socialist, Ecologist and Republican Group in the Senate, has made a strong appeal for a determined resolution to be placed on the French parliamentary agenda. The text, which we have been able to review, and which is based on Article 34-1 of the Constitution, aims to restore security in Haiti, a prerequisite deemed essential to pave the way for a political resolution to the critical situation facing the island. With this initiative, the Socialist senators intend to reflect the urgency felt by the French political scene to take action in the face of the Haitian chaos.
