The United States and Côte d'Ivoire are continuing to strengthen their military cooperation. Two memorandums of understanding were signed yesterday, Wednesday 13 November: for troop transport vehicles and a long-term training programme.
The Minister of State, Minister of Defence, also confirmed «the deployment by the United States of two aircraft for medical evacuation for the benefit of Ivorian soldiers on mission, notably those engaged in the fight against the jihadist threat in the Northern Operational Zone.» Orchestrating this was the US Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Jessica Davis Ba, appointed by the Biden Administration.
