On 10 January, Gabriel Attal dedicated his second trip out to security, visiting a police station in the Val d'Oise, and made it very clear that this would be a central issue for him. On 14 January, it was Gabriel Attal who directly convened a crisis cell at Place Beauvau to anticipate the arrival of Cyclone Belal. Given that G\u00e9rald Darmanin holds the status of a potential Prime Minister and enjoyed a great deal of autonomy in his duties, he is hardly appreciative of seeing the Prime Minister speak out on his briefs, step on his toes, and being forced to play second fiddle by welcoming him on each of his field visits.
